November 6, 2016 - Crimson in colour. Rich and layered showing off floral accents to the core of dried red berries and sour cherry aromas. Tannins are still firm and drying yet the fruit is well defined and nicely evolved.

December 31, 2015 - Dark garnet with a bricking tendency. Remarkably fresh and youthful on the nose, with delicious raspberries, spices, earth, leather, minerality, a hint of aniseed. The palate exhibits an excellent balance, a good grip and a nice complex mix of red fruit and spicy earthiness. The presumably rough tannins that this wine had in its youth are now softened but still grippy enough to provide a real structure. Medium+ bodied, fresh, almost ethereal like a Bourgogne. A very nice surprise. Great wine. At peak, best to drink now, no need to hold further. 89-90

February 9, 2014 - Crimson with brick rim. Pure frame of prune and varied dried berries accented by iodine and blood. Mellow in texture with the fruit fading and the coarse grained tannins still finding a way to a drying aftertaste. Maybe past its best now.

January 25, 2014 - First turkish wine... and first wine from the Bogazkere grape. This was really good. Simply amazing QPR at $4. Nicely mature with a nose of cocoa powder, black fruits, some light cedar and earth. Taste was straighforward but good with black fruits, earth, leather, strong minerality and softened tannins. I suspect this was monolithic when new but age really softened it.
