August 10, 2021 - Steve stopped by my house on his way home to have a glass of wine. I opened this bottle. I had not had this wine in almost 5 years and it is still drinking nicely at 15 years of age. We poured through a vintorio and let sipped it slowly over the next hours or so. The nose was dark fruit, the palate was blackberry, plum, tobacco, with hints of toffee and mocha. A really nice finish.

June 3, 2021 - From a magnum. A little disappointing compared to a few other Buty wines I've had recently. This may be a little over the hill. Feels overly sweet/sugary and lacking in structure. I had their '08 and '09 cab-franc/merlot blends recently and they were far more impressive.

I left this to day 3, and it was surprisingly much better then; the sugary profile was gone, and there was more of a serious brooding profile in its place. Much better. I think I'd still err toward more recent vintages though.

May 28, 2018 - Still going strong, entering a more mature and restrained tannin phase, but fruit still dark and bold. Drink this year or 2019, but will last a few years longer if needed.

March 24, 2018 - Full bodied, lovely nose, huge dark fruit palate and very smooth. Modern in style, with a nice finish, but overall, not very complex, and a little low on acidity.
