January 4, 2013 - Too earthy, somewhat bitter. Fruit is faint. Would not buy this again.
December 16, 2012 - Nose is faint but enjoyable. Floral and meaty nose. Would rate the nose 89, but the palate 93. Palate was phenomenal. Long, meaty, long finish.
November 19, 2012 - A bit earthy on the nose but not in an old world style...not too much going on in the nose. Sour cherry, new toasted oak on pallet. Medium light body. Very bitter finish...wondering if its whole cluster pressed and fermented...lots of green tannin.
August 13, 2012 - Outstanding. Lush and deep, but not too heavy. Anderson valley is my new favorite region.
December 3, 2011 - Tom's 34th Birthday (Home & Cafe Urbano): Blind tasting:
Astringent, strong, alcoholic on the nose. Candied fruit---sweet cherry, strawberry, cotton candy (a bit), and some yeasty, sweet, and spicy flavor at the middle and end of the palate. The spice at the end really helps balance this wine out.
August 10, 2011 - Sweet and ripe. Smoke seems gone. Nice and balanced
May 3, 2011 - Rich nose. Very heady. A bit spicy and fruity. Somewhat meaty as well. Not overly thick, and very enjoyable.
April 30, 2011 - Saturdays at One - Volume 45: WIML91-92+/-?
Tasted non blind.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of thatch, white pepper, raspberries and black berries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and black raspberries. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink now with some air or hold into the 2-6 year range plus or minus.
April 30, 2011 - Wine for Warmer Weather (Farpointe Cellar): Rich on the nose, with stewed tomatoes, cranberry, cherry, and forest floor. The palate was rich with fruit - cranberry, pomegranate, cherry, and boysenberry. There was a little spice, but it was too sweet for my taste.
December 5, 2010 - Terrific - lots of bright berry fruit with nicely balanced acid. Really drinkable now.
