  • Tim Heaton Likes this wine:

August 7, 2010 - Vinturi decanted for 30 minutes, consumed over 3 hours. Beautiful dark ruby color, with lively aromatics of red and blue berries, red florals and dried Provençal herbs. Medium bodied, and very much unlike most CA interpretations of this varietal (i.e. it's not overly ripe and extracted), it has a river of fresh acidity and perfectly smooth tannins. No need to wait, it's ready to go but certainly has the stuffing to last another 5+ years. We all thoroughly enjoyed the delicacy and care shown here. I prefer CF without some of the attendant pyrazine notes I find all too often, which made this all the more appealing. Recommended +.
