December 24, 2017 - A huge wine that took an hour to come around and mellow a bit. Gobs of overripe black fruits with some chocolate covered blueberries. 20+ second finish. Smooth. Hints of eucalyptus and cedar. This bottle clearly had at least a few more years of top form left in it.
January 15, 2017 - Decanted and drank over 3 hours. Very fruit forward. Red and blue fruits comingle with the oak for an easy to drink wine.
March 29, 2015 - Still going very strong!! Great value to a stud property.
March 20, 2015 - Huge wine for $100. Massive up front blueberry pie ala mode with a black pepper finish. A little hot. Needs a 5 hour decant at least. This is a big rich full body wine.
This is worth $100 all day.
April 27, 2013 - Well balanced and more restrained than I was expecting. Plush dark fruit, plenty of cassis and licorice notes, soft tannins on finish. A good second wine, and a decent qpr at ~$70.
December 17, 2012 - A bunch of Cabs and a few others: This is very nice. Not as good as the 07 Futo, but still outstanding. This is a more masculine style wine. Big and bold. Nose shows some toasted oak. Also plenty of cassis. Big, thick texture. Got better all night long.
August 10, 2012 - Kinda like the middle innings of a no hitter. During, when you don't know the outcome, plods along. Towards the end, you realize how fine it is. Would rather have more of the end earlier.
March 17, 2012 - Over two days. Really nice. Mostly dark fruits but a nice brightness (Cab Franc I think) on the finish. Has a really cool spiciness too. Maybe a little spiky and disjointed but great potential. For those with more bottles, I would recommend several years of age to integrate some of the sharp corners.
September 2, 2011 - Decanted for 2 hours. Amazing blue fruit on the nose with some vanilla. Palate is blueberry, cassis and vanilla creme with a touch of red currant. This will be an amazing wine in a few years. Give it time, but so nice now! Glad I have more. Finish is lengthy, at least 40 seconds.
July 1, 2011 - Outstanding. Great fruit with a rockin middle section and a long stride for the finish (reliving my track days here). Really though such an enjoyable bottle.
