April 30, 2019 - Funk nose (as expected), relatively light coloring. Opened and decanted for two hours, served with lamb. Fully opened in about three hours and didn't disappoint as a Cayuse.

March 23, 2019 - A tad hot, but great fruit.

January 2, 2019 - Pop.and pour, drank over about 6 hrs, and (still) improved over the time open. Has been in my cellar since release. Rather reduced to start, and that didn't completely disappear even with lots of time open. The nose is so distinctive, with raspberry, perfume, and loads of rocks funk, mixed with the bit of.reduction. On the palate, the acidity is downright soft, and this gets by, in my view, by its fruit. There is a touch of secondary development, but for my palate, this comes off as flat...I would even say somewhat tired. There is stll fruit there, which mirrors the nose, and that is what makes this compelling. This has a purity to it that really took four or five hours to come out. This worked better with my lamb chops than my wife's steak.

(Cayuse Grenache God Only Knows) Medium dark purple red violet color; lifted, appealing, tart plum, floral, tart berry, hibiscus, tart strawberry nose; tasty, medium bodied, tart plum, hibiscus, mineral, roasted plum palate, like a lighter bodied but complex Chateauneuf-du-Pape; medium-plus finish (w/10% God Only Knows)
