January 16, 2023 - Red fruit up front moves quickly into a dense, mid-tone, herbal core before finishing long on still unresolved tannin and a little lick of acidity. Shifting towards tertiary but definitely not all the way there yet. Delicious.

March 7, 2020 - Great stuff. Still alive with some fruit and acid, tannins soft. Perfect medium body Sangiovese.

August 19, 2016 - This is good but a bit disappointingly thin. Very nice fruit flavors and that nice musty aged edge. But the finish is short.

April 1, 2014 - Perfectly balanced, classic Tuscan red which came top in a tasting of other Italian reds by a mile. It has elegance and style with cherry and oak flavours and a powerful finish.

December 16, 2007 - Darker ruby color. Nose was impressive and notable for black cherry and holiday spice cake smells, plus a nostril-flaring floral element. The palate had sour cherry notes plus iodine and dark plums, stabilized by nicely firm tannins which balanced the fruit very well. Finish was moderate and harmonious. Extremely nice sangiovese caught right in the middle of its drinking window.

July 28, 2007 - I found this forgotten bottle in the cellar tonight and was curiuos how it would perform.
    well, it did great!

superripe fruit. lots of berries, very very fresh. A very well balanced wine and in its prime drinking window. The Sangiovese is the dominant grape and that shows. some barn yard notes, a bit leather, a bit under brush and starting to develop nice tertiar aromas.
everything in place. not an overpowered wine. more elegant in style. bit rustic. the wood is not too apparant but just a hint to much to score this wine 95. acidity is beautiful in place and the tannins have resolved beautifully. a real joy.
and, again, a proof that Sangiovese needs age to show its full potential.

Lilliano was a favourite Chianti a few years ago and now I wonedr why I stopped buying it... In fact.. a biyt strange that this very consistend producer doesn't get more attention. They deserve it.
