September 2, 2022 - On PnP, I agree entirely with others' prior notes. Ever so slight bitter note on medium, expressive finish. Tannins prominent and a bit drying but fading, with dark, mostly mature fruits. Black cherry, currants, pretty strong oak happening. Quite delicious and likely will open up soon.

Update 3 hours later. Dramatic improvement. Bitterness gone, replaced with smooth, mature goodness. Lovely.

March 15, 2017 - Last bottle from a batch bought direct from the winery at release...had with my wood oven pizzas.

Consistent with prior notes (11/16) :"Vibrant purple color, some fading bit still. Cork crumbled, nose jumped out of the bottle once pushed through. Nose of dark berries, oak, cedar. Rich and expressive palate of dark cherry, currants, spice, vanilla. Sweetness through the mid palate, nicely balanced at this point. Medium weight and finish...."

This was a pleasant surprise, I thought this would have been gone by now when I came across these bottles last Fall. Bright fruits, nice weight, expressive and easy to drink.

November 12, 2016 - Another (almost) forgotten bottle...pulled randomly after a Pride Sangiovese. Purchased this at the winery at release, remembering I liked it at the time, this was their lower price point offering. Had not intended to cellar this for 14 years...Splash decanted drank over 2 hours.

Vibrant purple color, some fading bit still. Cork crumbled, nose jumped out of the bottle once pushed through. Nose of dark berries, oak, cedar. Rich and expressive palate of dark cherry, currants, spice, vanilla. Sweetness through the mid palate, nicely balanced at this point. Medium weight and finish.

Interesting, expressive and bright fruit profile. Probably past its prime, aged better than expected, an enjoyable wine...

April 24, 2010 - Great Wine! Good Tanins wish I would have waited to open this with a good Ribeye.
