October 5, 2019 - This one has really pulled itself together since my first bottle in 2014. Ripe red cherry, leather and just a touch of barnyard. The palate is balaced with sweet fruit and good acidity, mid-palate is notable and finish long.

June 8, 2014 - There is a medicinal and alcohol note followed by dark red fruit. Palate is thin with acidity dominating. Not bad with food but hard to enjoy on its own. Disappointing. (82)

August 10, 2012 - 15 months ago totally different. Was very dull and showed not too many traces of life. Seemed to be a slight oxi situation. Monotonous dark cherry fruit. Was drinkable, but really a pleasure! Something for the sauce pan!

July 15, 2011 - Too oaky. Blurred fruit. Last bottle was a lot better.

May 31, 2011 - This 02 has reached a harmonious phase of development. Certainly well oaked, with time the wood has integrated and the fruit has no plans of going anywhere soon. Lovely drinkability!

November 29, 2009 - Like being trapped in a spider web in a musty attic. 4th of 6 burgundies in a family tasting, but also the second least expensive bottle so maybe you get what you pay for (as long as you don't ask me about the Leroy Clos de la Roche that significantly underperformed itself). This one has a dark cherry color with some unpleasant moldy aromas but a bit of cherry and pepper undertones. Palate is just a little better, tart and plummy,, maybe more pruney with big, not altogether pleasant flavors and medium body. I think one could do better for the same price.

March 2, 2009 - Well, the color nice but both the nose and palate were very unappealing. This was thin, reedy and tart. I know that others on CT found this palateable so this was either an off bottle or the wine has completely run out of steam. I should have one more to try a little later but I'm not optimistic.

May 4, 2007 - This is a very solid bottle of Red Burg. We drank with 4 other Red Burgs. I would def. buy again, good value. Tollot-Beaut never disappoints. Red fruits, a little hot on the finish...maybe needs some time. 1 more year.

August 5, 2005 - Opened at a Burgundy dinner and tasting. This wine was rich with flavors of cherry, raspberry and a bit of smoke/earth. It was a little tart coming right out of the bottle (not decanted) but opened up fairly well soon. My sense is that this wine will benefit from some additional bottle aging.
