December 14, 2016 - Pretty good old vine Zin from Dry Creek. I didn't feel the 15.6% abv. Not sweet - still has good fruit. Went well with spaghetti first night and beef stew second night.

October 19, 2013 - 15.6% abv. From 90-year old vines grown on the elevated east benchland of Dry Creek Valley (dry-farmed vines). An old clone is grafted to St. George rootstock.
Very dark purple and opaque. More plummy than many Zinfandels. For such high alcohol, less heat than anticipated. Some spicy notes. It's my belief that the age of the vines contributes to the concentrated flavors and the rich material in this wine. Not a "sweet" Zinfandel--more in the style of traditional Dry Creek Valley Zin. Could be long-lived. Label recommends pairing with hearty sauces and beef or lamb. I enjoyed this. Very tasty. 89-90 points?

October 5, 2013 - I opened this thinking it was peak or past peak, but I was wrong. This wine is wonderful now and I wish I had more. Very complex, does not need breathing time now, long finish, lots of spice and dark fruit but not jammy - just lovely.

June 4, 2013 - One of the best Zins (and wine in general) that I have had. Good structure, great discipline. That California zin-fruit was kept in control. Did a decant (and recant) back into the bootle an hour before drinking. By the end of the dinner it was smoking!

June 1, 2012 - This is drinking very well right now - no need to wait here. A very nice mouth feel, good balance, and some nice red fruit, but not too much of it. I like this one.

February 25, 2012 - A really excellent wine. Once again, I believe this is the best of all the vintages of their Zin I have tasted. It is drinking really well right now not requiring any breathing time.

November 26, 2011 - Very well balanced, did not need to breathe as it was very smooth from first sip. Raspberry and vanilla, good mouthfeel and moderate finish. I have had Forchini Zin's since 2001, and think the 2007 is the best vintage.

August 25, 2011 - Modern Cali, cheap tasting, fake. Something in there to like, but not my style. I can see many liking this. Nose of raspberries, dried cherries and toasted oak. It kind of redeemed itself with some good cheeses, cutting through and feeling solid.
