January 10, 2014 - Very good after a short decant. Plenty of dark and blue fruits...almost silky mouthfeel and long finish.

February 24, 2012 - Very pleasantly surprised. We were very disappointed with Joey's 08 Colson Canyon Syrah. This is a pleasant, albeit light bodied Grenache. However, drinking side by side with Stolpmans 08 Grenache, Stolpman blows it away.

January 2, 2012 - Oh. My. Oh. My. Yikes!!! I, too, am a fan of Tensley's wines, but I'm used to my mouth puckering from tannins, not from cloying sweetness. Gooey. Very hard to drink. Dubious winner of my disappointment of 2011.

August 30, 2011 - The structure was there... but the sugar throws it way off, to the point of overwhelming. Unfortunately purchased a few bottles and each has had the same issue.

March 15, 2010 - Dark and brooding red. Blackberry, plum, rhubarb pie, smoked meat. Soft, thick, and viscous. Ripe tannins, good fresh acid, and long nice finish. One problem...residual sugar and a lot of residual sugar (twice as much as a Rombauer). The sugar left this wine totally out of balance. I'm wondering if this wine is representative of his 2008 Grenache, or this bottle is a one off. I'm a fan of his wines and this was my first disappointment.
