April 7, 2024 - Dark fruit, new leather, tilled soil combine with the well integrated oak. Great depth and texture. The aromatics are singing nicely. Year in year out, this Napa Cabernet delivers at a high level. This has at least ten years of great drinking in its future. Great juice.
January 6, 2024 - Even better than the 2005 I tried last month. Decanted 2 hours and enjoyed throughout the evening. Easily in its drinking window and has alot of legs left
December 31, 2023 - Tried to decant for 2 hours, but wifey got impatient. Opened up nicely after about 3 hours. We have properly cared for this wine, and would recommend that you drink it now.
October 14, 2023 - The best. Always my fave wine. These aged are so good
September 1, 2023 - A smooth drinking wine that was well balanced on the palate. Cinnamon and nutmeg dominated both the nose and palate, but not much else. The bold cabernet fruit characteristics of this wine did not shine through as well as I recall in earlier vintages. No secondary or tertiary characteristics yet. Hold.
July 30, 2023 - Great wine. Still had good fruit but had gained so much depth from again. Still would have 5-10 years left
July 15, 2023 - Ruby, ripe, bright fruit florals. Blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum, boysenberries, dark cherries, haunting blue fruits, poached strawberries, dry cranberries, black tea with mid fruit, anise, mid to dark spice for days, some pepper, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanilla, light, dark raisins, older tobacco, new leather, light graphite, crushed rocks/limestone, dry top soil, dark rich soil with dry leaves, chewy leather, slight mint, dry herbs, fresh to slightly withering red, dark, blue florals framed in violets. Acidity is magnificence, well structured, balanced, 50-50 fruit and soft earth finish that lasts minutes.
March 31, 2023 - One of my favorites. Has many more years left. Great tannins, full nose of berry, cedar and slight vanilla. Some musty leave smell from the glass (very pleasant).
March 26, 2023 - In a fantastic spot. WotN by most of the table. Fully integrates tannins, lovely dark fruit, medium plus body, no sense of ovet extraction or too much oak. Just an fantastically balanced napa cab. Drank well without food. These went fast at the table
March 19, 2023 - Took a while to soften, Sat in a decanter for 1 1/2 hours. Only at the end did we feel the roundness. Kept half the bottle for 2 days and enjoyed it more. Slight Bordeaux style though the Napa Cab boldness was prominent.
