January 13, 2023 - My last bottle (and perhaps only) bottle, and this was drinking stellar and far exceeded my memory from the tasting room so long ago. I'd moved away from the Navarro Pinots and switched more to their whites. At that time, I reasoned that for the value there were other excellent offerings in the AV area. As the prices on some of those have sky-rocketed, and looking at how this wine has aged, I might want to rethink my decision. Wow was this good, pure, ethereal and balanced.

February 21, 2021 - Found this hiding in the cellar. Cork removed in one piece w Durand. Medium deep red. Intense nose and cherries and strawberry. Lovely velvet texture and good intensity of fruit. Perhaps lacking secondary development but wonderful to drink, even at age 14. This will remain at peak for a number of years, still. Bravo.

June 25, 2020 - This Pinot was beautiful at 13 years old. The nose was beaming with fruit and virtually nothing vegetal or earthy. Flavors were full of bright black fruit and there were no tannins to distract you. The bright good acidic balance finish made this wine great! Had it with cioppino which was definitely the right match!!

February 8, 2018 - Drinking well. Dirty PN nose. Still plenty of fruit and well placed acidity. Not a lot of secondary characteristics but a typical Navarro well crafted wine.

December 23, 2017 - Stood up for 1 week and decanted off mild sediment and waited 1 hr. Black cherries, some herbs, and hint of earth with lively acids. Medium bodied. Still feels primary where the palate is more about fruit than other savory elements that I enjoy in aged pinot. Drinking well and enjoyable but was hoping for more evolution and complexity 10 years from vintage.

September 29, 2017 - PnP. Crystals on cork which was wet about half way. Medium red. Somewhat reticent nose of cherry, raspberry. Rather light in body on the palate, good balance of fruit, and acidity. At age 10 may be beginning to fade but quite a nice wine and good QPR. The Navarro wines although not as intense as some from Anderson Valley have a good track record of aging a decade or more in my hands.

April 10, 2017 - Nose of lavender, cherries, strawberries, earth, and cedar.
on the palate - surprisingly a little reductive, does better with an hour or two of air. then expressive, sweet yet balanced. cola, root beer, black cherries, earth, and a crystalline, mineral quality to the mouthfeel that balances the sweetness and fullness nicely. A plush style.

November 29, 2015 - This is a delicious CA Pinot Noir, which seems to be quite underrated here. Red fruit (cherry and raspberry) but also some earthy and tea notes. Nice acidity that keeps it all together. Excellent balance and good complexity. Smooth and medium long finish. For $30 one of the best QPR from CA. I am glad that I have two more bottles!

July 27, 2013 - Popped and poured; crystals on the cork which was wet 2/3rds way up. Medium light ruby; cherries and blueberries on the nose; Nice fruit on the palate echoing the berry theme with rhubarb; a bit of heat/tannins on the finish which is moderate. Nice wine in an understated style though richer than Anderson Valley Pinots often are.
