September 6, 2016 - This has turned into a very nice wine. Didn't like very much a few years ago. Decanted over an hour. Deep purple. Bold and fresh blue and purple fruit. Full bodied. Good finish. A bit of mid tongue green acidity. Much better than before.

March 4, 2015 - Drank in Telluride. A bit of a disappointment. Initially smooth but morphs into a granny apple mid tongue evaporating acid taste that lingers.

July 20, 2014 - Delicious red berry, lavender, and black pepper spice on the nose and palate with soft tannins on the long finish. Delicious whole cluster GSM. Drinking beautifully!

December 1, 2012 - Ann pulled this from the cellar and poured it for me blind. Popped and poured and the rest went into a decanter. Tight at first, showing red fruits and black pepper. Medium bodied with good acidity. I initially thought this was a chateauneuf du pape. As it opened the fruit became more intense, almost sweet. Cherries, red raspberries. Lots of spice and black pepper I'm guessing from the stem inclusion. Some beef/meaty notes. Juicy. As Pax points out, it's not big and lush, which is one of the things I like about it. In the end I guessed a Cali GSM blend, and Wind Gap Orra. Close but no cigar.

October 8, 2011 - Peter thought it was WOTN. I thought it held its own but not necessarily the best. excellent nose, soft mouthfeel, crazy purple color. Mouth was an abundant of fruit that led with some bacon fat, I felt it feel into vanilla and then a hint of minerality. All in all it was a fine wine with Duck and Pork Dishes. Can definetly wait a bit but fun to drink now

October 6, 2011 - Well balanced wine with raspberry, chewy herbs, violets and pepper. Round kirsch fruit is tempered with cooling acidity and firm tannins.

November 20, 2010 - Getting better. Much improved from the first two bottles. Rich and juicy. Not like the Saxum version but still very good.

November 10, 2010 - Much better than the first bottle a year ago. It has put on substantial weight and richness. The sourness is gone. Fresh, focused and with a long aftertaste.
