    July 30, 2021 - Corked!

    October 29, 2020 - Late night bottle, so only brief impressions. While approachable this was a somewhat backwards showing, on whose basis I would not pop further corks for at least 2-3 years.
    On day 2 this is pretty with cocoa on the nose; crystalline red fruit and sous-bois on the palate, and nice bottle sweetness. I was slightly disappointed at the lack of tobacco or green pepper notes.
    I plan to hold my remaining bottles 3 to 5 years before opening another.

    October 28, 2020 - From memory, this was delicious, choice CF with great intensity and balance, and slightly rustic. Excellent with flatiron steak chimichurri.

    June 21, 2020 - Some darkening evident. On the nose, old leather and damp leaves; reminds me of 20 year old cru bourgeois. The palate exhibits a pretty texture and good length, but the fruit is beginning to dry out and the background is a bit tertiary. Nothing left here that speaks of Chinon, unfortunately.

    January 28, 2020 - -- decanted 1.5 hours before initial taste --
    -- tasted non-blind over 4 hours --

    NOSE: dark-fruited; earthy; light bell pepper; mineral; deep; moderately expressive; hint of raspberry licorice. Very enticing aromatics --- still a bit reserved, but not closed --- complex.

    BODY: fine particulate matter present; violet-garnet color of great depth; {forgot to note weight, but by memory I recall it in the medium to medium-full range}

    TASTE: Well … damn. This is excellent. Strong stony aspect, with dark raspberry and medium-strength pyrazine note; no brett; hint of garrigué; still a good amount of drying tannin present; light leather; medium to medium+ acidity; alc. not noticeable (13%); moreish; incredibly good example of Cabernet Franc. Still on its upswing, but not a crying shame to drink now, either; for my preferences, this is a Hold for another 5 years. Drink Now and over the next 20 years.
