April 12, 2020 - Dried cherry and wet stone with hints of oregano and wood. This has developed nicely. Nice long finish
Maybe slightly past it’s peak but still very enjoyable.

August 27, 2018 - Clearly held this too long. No obvious flaws, just average, lacking complexity and depth.

May 12, 2018 - Getting toward the end of a batch bought direct. I thought this would mellow in time, a bit too ripe and viscous in its youth.

Ruby red, fading a bit. Nose of red fruits, damp earth? Palate of bright cherry, strawberry, baking spice, red licorice, cherry cola. Thin through back palate and finish, a bit of heat showing up in the bottle.

Bought this on reviews/recommendations at release. Never fully lived up to its press...decent wine in its youth, not my style

October 9, 2017 - Been a while since I have had this, in my cellar since release. PnP, drank over 90 minutes and again a day later.

Ruby red, still good core color, slightly cloudy. Nose of red fruits. Palate of bright cherry, strawberry, baking spice, red licorice, cherry cola. More settled (from memory) with its age. Did not notice the heat I picked up last time. Smooth mouthfeel, tannins softened. Medium weight and finish. Nice secondary notes through the mid palate.

For sure this is a CA, fruit forward Pinot. Age has mellowed it and drinking nicely. I would say this is good but not great. About where it will be, would drink remaining bottles over the next 2-3 years.

August 28, 2017 - With fresh silver salmon. Still plenty of fruit. Integrated flavors, great balance. Delicious. My last bottle. Even thought the CT window has a 2016 end date I would guess this is fine for another couple of years minimum.

February 4, 2017 - This wine was good but not outstanding. Bright Cherry fruit but wine was slightly out of balance with too much acidity.

July 16, 2016 - Fantastic. I remember liking this a lot when I bought it 6 years ago. Since then I have really come to dislike most CA Pinot. But wow this was really great! No massive ripe favors here. Not a fruit bomb. This wine was made with finesse. Great earthy aromas. Silky smooth in the mouth. I wish I had a case of this.

    January 14, 2016 - Agree with MDA7

Tannins now fully absorbed, bitter cherry characteristics only appear fully with cheddar

Probably the best time/age to drink this vineyard going on more recent samples. And this is more enjoyable for me than the younger vintages
