August 16, 2019 - Popped and poured. Quite nice at first (~94) but after an hour it declined with increased bitterness. Drink up.

August 16, 2019 - One of the best of Fevre's 02 GCs I have tasted. In 02, Fevre was plagued by some kind of problem that led his wines to oxodize prematurely. Virtually every bottle of Les Preuses I have tasted in the past decade has been undrinkable because of Premox. In other bottlings my experience has been more varied. But the Les Close, at least this bottle of Les Close, what finally showing what I expected from a Fevre GC Chablis.

June 23, 2019 - This wine was even better than the last one I drank, very sad I do not have more. This wine has everything you could want in a Chablis. This wine is proof why Les Clos is the undisputed favorite in Chablis. Fevre, in my opinion, is the best value for the money. You can pay more for other producers but you will not get a better or more consistent wine.

(Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos) Light yellow color; very creamy, lemon chiffon nose, with a tangy lime note; elegant, but a little austere initially compared to the Les Preuses, bright lemon palate with depth, minerals and a fresh oyster note mid-palate; opened up a lot with air time in the glass, with even more minerality and a sense of mussels showing up; medium-plus finish 94+ pts.

(Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos) Light yellow color with greenish tinge; light, ethereal citrus nose; very tasty, focused, if not intense, elegant, citrus and mineral palate, rich but balanced; medium-plus finish (WOTF)

Burgundy-Report

(Fevre William Chablis Le Clos) Pale lemon yellow. The nose starts subdued giving high toned floral aromas, faint green apple and mild peach. With time the peach component becomes stronger. The palate has the hallmarks of great Chablis - purity, just a little trace of fat and a superb length. I felt that maybe a shade more acidity would provide an even better wine, but not enough to stop me ordering half a case for future reference(!) A stealth wine that creeps up on you getting better and better in the glass.
