Community Tasting Notes 5

March 11, 2011 - Light red. Nose with strawberry, soy sauce, leaves, and a whiff of smoke. Medium light body is very supple. Crisp bright strawberry and hard cranberry on the palate, rockiness. No banana or bubble gum character at all. Lingering sappy finish. Quite de-lish, and better with some air time. 90-91.

September 19, 2010 - Okay - this is one of the best Beaujolais I have ever tasted. The nose features aromas of rose, strawberry, and cut green grass. Light as a feather on the palate, with mild spice and mixed berry flavors. The last bottle I opened was definitely suffering from bottle shock - it came up blank. With some much needed rest, this next bottle showed everything I had hoped for. Very nice indeed.

January 12, 2010 - Peter Weygandt tasting at Hinton's (Hinton's Wine Store): Bright rose red. Very pretty nose with strawberry pie and underbrush. Not at all shy on the nose like previous notes (Maybe because Peter Weygandt was watching over it?). On the palate more of a bold cranberry with walnuts. This is a darn nice Cru Beaujolais.

December 8, 2009 - Not an extremely expressive nose. Mainly just berries and nothing else. I have to agree with the previous tasters. Primarily fruit driven with some decent minerality at the beginning, but that fades quickly and it just becomes acid and alcohol from there on out all the way through the finish. Not good.
