Community Tasting Notes 4

July 30, 2011 - Ours was bad too. Dark color and bitter with a cough syrup taste.

June 6, 2011 - Beckman is a rock solid Santa Ynez Rhone producer, yet to visit.
Dark yellow, that would make you think oaked, but isn't. (at least new oak.) Modest nose, green melon, some wet stone. Green apple, stone fruit. Not as high on acidity as Grenache blanc can be, not an slight RS porch pounder either. Good viscosity. I'd drink any left in next 12 months.

March 7, 2011 - Looked and tasted oxidized. Was orange in color and tasted like bitter almonds with no fruit at all.

September 9, 2010 - Nose of bittersweet dust and fruit with notes not unlike almond or nut liqueur (but without the sweetness). In the mouth strong nuts and woody taste relative to fruit (steely pear, other not identified), still in balance, with notes of caramel in the finish (must be oak). Dryish. Body medium, acid medium minus. Drink now.
