April 10, 2019 - SLDS April 2019: Orange peel, smoke and apple. Slightly spirity with a touch of bitterness, it's fine at first but as it warms up I like the characters less.

April 23, 2016 - Occasional dinner group; A vertical of 15 vintages Clos des Papes and some great extra's. (@ B in SvG): Beautiful bouquet with ripe yellow fruits, flowers and a light dose of vanilla. Same on the palate with some white fruits as well, beautiful acidity, a touch of sweetness and some pleasant bitterness in the finish. A refined wine.

July 12, 2015 - The 2007 Fonsalette blanc is just beginning to open up after seven years in bottle, and will be singing when it reached age ten; embarrassingly, it took me six bottles to realize that, but now I've learned my lesson. On the nose the wine opens up with notes of ripe cantaloupe melon, Provencal herbs and honeysuckle. On the palate, it is juicy, textural and full-bodied, with a sense of freshness and focus which belie its varietal composition and the vintage. This is a bit more elegant and restrained than the flamboyant white Rayas itself.

October 22, 2012 - Came out to play after about an hour. Herbaceous quality on the palate with the fruit arriving late. Finish had some funk that relaxed over time.
