July 17, 2013 - Deep dark crimson red. Smokey nose of spicy French oak, lined with dark cherries and liquorice, with a tinge of plum. Nicely smooth yet light on the initial, light to medium body developing firm tannins. Watered down transition as the body dies down. Long powerful and tannic finish, with slight cherry aftertaste. Pretty nice wine that could surely do with more bodyduring transition. Tannin stands out a little, could do with a few more years of aging. Overall a nice wine, good for degustation.

February 28, 2013 - Dusty cedary nose, seemingly all of oak. Diffuse, currant-ish nose, not especially oaky, but a bit washed out and dilute. Dry flavours, with simple sandy tannins, and light-medium bodied. Not much length of finish. Serviceable but fairly dull claret. Tasted in Singapore Business class at 40,000 feet, so conditions weren’t ideal.
