March 27, 2024 - Star anise. Marjoram. Dark bitter chocolate. Blackcurrants.. superb with the dish. Stunning fruit tannins.lands on the front of the mouth and stays there. A stunningly good wine. Supple texture, but rich and tannic. A touch of blackcurrant jam. Certainly aged, but once past the bottle stink, this is still incredibly fresh. An excellent wine that matched perfectly to an Estella recipe of flank steak with a taleggio sauce.

November 1, 2019 - Not surprisingly, this is still quite young, with very little signs of age, except for perhaps a smoothed out texture to the tannins. Plummy, peppery and meaty. A luscious ball of ripe black fruit. Fun wine.
September 14, 2017 - Bought on release and stored at 55 degrees. Toasty plum nose, rich full mouth and lengthy fruity finish. Slightly more tannic than acidic so don't know how it will hold. Excellent wine.
May 30, 2017 - Bought on release from the winery and kept in refrigerated storage until now. Wow, lots of subdued fruit, I think it needs 7-10 more years' block buster of a wine. The nose is heady, a monster wine. The finish goes on forever. Glad I have more.
May 6, 2017 - Seems to have turned raisiny. Almost like amarone. Chalky, muted fruit. These have been disappointing. Early reviews were off the mark.
January 17, 2017 - 2002 TURLEY WINE CELLARS ESTATE VINEYARD NAPA PETITE SIRAH- our bottle was flawed.
February 14, 2016 - Past its prime
June 21, 2015 - Off
March 14, 2015 - Surprisingly this wine was a bit past its best days. Tannins were soft, but most of the fruit was gone. Tartness was its major attribute.
