October 25, 2023 - I am generally not a fan of this vintage, but this was pretty good. Soft and earthy. Rich but overly ripe or sweet.

March 19, 2022 - A good piece of evidence for drinking more CdP. Nice complexity from the very start and minimal tannic impact makes for very good drinking. Third night under pump got a little grapey, so probably near the end.

September 21, 2020 - Really pleased with this. Not sure what I paid, but major league profile, with lots of that C de P complexity going on. But leave it swirling in the mouth a long time and it's fun. Going strong, but no reason to wait.

March 26, 2020 - Assessed over three hours. Initially the wine offered baked plum and anise. The Syrah was evident with some smoky bacon tones, and the Mourvèdre with some barnyard. The tannins seemed fine grained early. The 14.5% was evident. On the palate, black fruits and black olives, oriental spice box. It was 2007 ripe but not plodding as some can be. Acidity was seemed adequate. I never got any Brett, only garrigue. With food the tannins became quite aggressive, contrary to what I usually expect. The lack of acidity emerged and the wine took on a Port-like quality. It did have some nice aromatic lift as it warmed in the mouth. I would say the wine is mid age. There was no sense of decline whatsoever.

March 16, 2020 - No formal note. PnP, consumed over several hours.

Full throttle blackberry, boysenberry, olive tapenade with bits of tobacco. Pretty modern in style, tannins are fine at this point. No way I would have guessed Rhone if it were blind, maybe Passo.

March 28, 2019 - Powerful wine. Black fruits, blackberry and black cherry, some coffee, some five spice, some tobacco on the nose, long black olive finish. Garrigue elements more on the finish than the nose. Fine tannins, which seemed more obvious with a Mediterrian vegatarian pasta dish. I was suprised that I enjoyed my last glass by itself more than the last glass with dinner. There is a bit of the big ripeness that I associate with 2007. Nice now but no panic.

August 25, 2018 - Pretty super average, standard CDP. Didn't show much age, either, or development. Not bad, just not interesting.

April 10, 2018 - Poured in a comparative CdP lineup with no decanting and tasted over 2-3 hours, the VV had a promising dark fruited, subtle sauvage nose. Adequate, rich blue and black fruits currently balance notable, though not severe, tannins. The delicious fruit core is much more evident when tasted with an earthy, washed rind soft cheese. This wine seems quite early in it's development and would benefit from 3-4 hours decant or 5-6 more years in the cellar.
