May 19, 2019 - Prior bottle was almost to the day two years ago and this wine continues to show tremendously well. Nose was essentially the same: lots of blackfruit (blackberry, black raspberry and black cherry) along with floral notes and now some earth and leather qualities. Between medium and full bodied and like the nose, the flavor profile was essentially unchanged: black raspberry and cherry upfront, adding blackberry which contributes a youthful note. Mid-body shows noticeably more depth and nuance than did the regular bottle from last night. Good tannic structure on the backside and when coupled with the slightly tart acidity, provides good contrast while keeping in balance with the fruit. Plum and tart black cherry bridge the mid-body to the finish which then exhibits light spices, chocolate, leather and earth. As compared to the prior bottle, the depth and overall integration had improved exactly as I'd hoped. Very good overall balance allowed the complexity to really shine through. Beautiful brunello and should be able to hold this level for at least another 2+ years.

November 10, 2017 - Lovely Brunello, really opened up after a double decant & an hour to breathe. Definitely drinking well now & probably a few years left too.

May 20, 2017 - Black raspberry, blackberry and black cherry on the nose along with wonderful floral notes. Between medium and full bodied (14.5% ABV) and needs an least an hour open to come together properly and continued to open up over the course of four total hours. Black raspberry upfront along with black cherry, then adds tart black cherry and blackberry behind. Tremendous concentration and richness through the middle. Brings in plum and blueberry, providing additional depth towards the back. Excellent acidity from the middle through to the finish, but in balance with the fruit. Finishes with chocolate, mineral notes and additional tart acidity and tannins. As well as this wine showed tonight, I think a bit more time should allow it to show additional depth as the balance and integration improve. Perhaps I'll try my last bottle in Fall 2018.

August 15, 2014 - Intoxicating nose on open with flowers and plums. However, drying tannins on the finish indicated a decant was in order. After 45-60 minutes, it was much improved. Elegant and lithe mouthfeel with mixed berries and a hint of mocha. Very good complexity and it paired well with my filet mignon. Loved by everyone at the table.
