February 21, 2017 - Was good originally and an excellent value. It seems to have aged perfectly and is better than I remember. In fact, it is showing excellently at this stage. Very much ready to drink now! Too bad its my last one.

November 21, 2015 - Tasted 3h after decanting (negligible sediment) - good colour, quite deep with no browning. Blackberries and blackcurrants on the nose which opened nicely in the glass. The palate was soft with overwhelmingly blackcurrant fruit and a little integrated, soft, leathery tannin and blackcurrant acidity. My wife found a trace of rubber and I had to agree but it was not unpleasant. There was a little green pepper on the end taste.
With food (fillet steak) it was fine but I would have preferred a Malbec or a more conventional cabernet-based wine.
Overall, a nice wine that has clearly softened and integrated over the years. Personally, I'm not really into the Cabernet sauvignon/Syrah combination. I think that this mix seems to lose the characteristics of each grape individually and becomes less than the sum of its parts.

April 7, 2014 - Blueberries, blackberries and smoke, toasted oak, cigar box, black pepper. Finally smoothed out! Much better now and probably for the next 1-2 years. Still a lot of oak in this but better balanced now. Full bodied and almost screaming for BBQ meat. Not well suited for subtle dishes or as an aperitive. Given enough cellar time this turned out to be a great QPR.

December 11, 2012 - Dark and heavy are my keywords for this wine. Dark fruit, black cherries and blackberries, a bit smokey, but most of all: heavily oaked. Too much for my taste but overall a pretty decent wine for 10-13 euro.

February 26, 2011 - Heavy oak and leather dominate the nose. Jammy berries and oak on the palate. Hint of green on the backend, perhaps bell pepper and mint?
