November 5, 2013 - Very good. Actually continued to get more complex over an evening of being open. Traditional rustic Sagrantino aromas of violets, rust, vanilla, blackberry, blueberry. The palate echoes the flavors nicely, again with impressive staying power.
March 22, 2013 - Needs to air for at least one hour. Excellent tannins, long on flavor, had with gnocchi and red wine sauce. Very old world and a delicious sagrantino.
March 1, 2013 - Definitely needed an hour or so to open. Then, big powerful nose, with aged cheese and warm spice. Big tannins that work better with food. Dark fruits, some heat. Enjoyable wine, pretty good deal for a Sagrantino under $30.
May 20, 2012 - Powerfull wine which expresses the mediterranian character. Slight oxidation removes the rough edges.
December 4, 2010 - Dark and powerful. This is a meaty, leathery wine with subdued dried fruit on the finish. Delicious, and a great food wine.
April 3, 2010 - Dark color, inky nose, big saturated body with intense fruit. Definitely "international" style. Not my thing really, but it stood up well to the aggressively seasoned food, which was the main purpose.
