September 11, 2018 - Best 2008 German Riesling GG; 9/9/2018-9/11/2018 (Concept Riesling Düsseldorf): For a base wine very convincing and with a long breath. Not at his end. Compared to the Morstein GG in the same flight riper yellow stone fruits like peach with a little bit less concentration and acidity. I was in the Pfalz. 3-5 years ahead from a good cellar. 93

September 1, 2018 - “Ten Years After” 2008 Dry Riesling Große Gewächse Tasting (Concept Riesling, Dusseldorf, Germany): Interesting to compare with the GG. Very drinkable with ripe fruit. I miss the acidity and the cut. Good but drink up.

September 1, 2018 - 10 years after Riesling tasting - 2008 - Part II (Concept Riesling, Düsseldorf): Glass: Gabriel Universal Standard
*** All wines tasted blind, bottles opened a few hours before serving, served decanted ***
Clear, golden yellow color. Dry, but a bit sweeter than the Morstein. Medium+ acidity. Ripe yellow fruit, fine mineral notes. Not as focused and energetic as the Morstein, a bit riper and broader, but with a medium+ length and still some potential left. I was very positively surprised to see this is the “village” from Wittmann. 91, very good PQR

July 28, 2013 - Opened three hours before consume. Tasty wine with citrus and stony flavours. Very well balanced with a nice length. Drinking excellent now, but will hold. Better than Keller Von der Fels from the same vintage. Great buy.

June 3, 2013 - Drinking excellent now and very typical of the varietal. Citrus and stone fruits, good weight and very pure. Even a nice drink without food. Wittmann's Westhofener Riesling never seems to dissapoint.- 89 points

January 23, 2013 - Again a very nice Westhofener Riesling from Wittmann with sweet citrus and stone fruits and some Botrytis induced honey flavors - the sweetness balanced by fresh acidity. Does not have the clarity and minerality of 2007 in my opinion but it is a great food wine for slighty sweet dishes (e.g., pumpkin, corn, Asian cuisine). - 89 points

November 1, 2010 - By far the best Whittmann Riesling I have ever had, and finally worthy of the hype that Wildman (thier importer) is efforting. Beautiful structure, showing off '08 very well, and built to last.
