March 9, 2024 - Nicely aged Pinot with quite some complexity.
The bouquet has a touch smokiness, some earthiness and truffles but also more darker fruit.
I would finish remaining bottles over the next few years.

August 8, 2021 - Decanted earlier in the day as there is residual lees.
A well balanced pinot that has aged well. Good berry fruit and smooth tannins. Has body and aging has helped.

April 15, 2018 - Aged Martinborough Pinot at its best. This is a really nice wine in very good condition. Still quite bright and red in colour, very vibrant and a good sign of things to come. The nose has developed dark fruit characters with some spice. The palate is fine with lovely fruit flavours of cranberry, redcurrant and blackberry. Really good length on the finish with some lip smacking acidity. Bloody nice Pinot.

August 6, 2016 - Deep red colour, red fruit nose, full and powerful palate with that lovely silky, supple mouthfeel that marks good pinot noir. Some spicy developed characters and quite a long finish. Slight sour cherry notes. This feels like it still has more to give with further ageing. I drank all my other examples of this far too young.

May 5, 2015 - Absolutely exceptional. Time has really benefited this Pinot Noir and anyone still still on a bottle would be well rewarded opening in now. Amazing tannins, plush and fantastic earthy notes. One of the best Pinots tried. Fantastic!

July 21, 2012 - 7.5/10 - Again, took a while to settle down. Was quite muted at first but after 2 hours of decanting, the bright raspberry and strawberry flavours and acidity started showing. Sweet and sour, some cream and spice with a little heat from the alcohol. Quite drinkable but definitely needs a decant before serving

May 2, 2012 - Decanted for several hours. Quite full bodied and quite a lot of oak. Not much subtlety here, nothing ethereal or romantic, but a good wine with body, structure and layers of fruit, especially strawberries and raspberry coulis. The oak really could be better integrated/toned down a touch but overall a very good pinot. That being said, this is not for everyone and perhaps is not really for me.

December 11, 2011 - 7.5/10 - Took a while to settle in. Was pretty disjointed for at least the first hour or two. Once it came together, it started reminding me of the wine I previously tasted but lacking the sour zing that I enjoyed and with oak a little bit more pronounced than I would have liked, especially on the finish. Otherwise it's still as per before, sweet and sour strawberries with some cream and a spicy finish. Perhaps I should have decanted it first...
