July 25, 2021 - 2021
July 5, 2020 - Really excellent, my favourite at this price. Deep amber, almost tawny in appearance. Toasted almonds and star anise aromas, flavours of preserved lemon and salted caramel on the edges, picked up by a long saline finish. Layers of flavour if not the most complex sherry. Still, very moreish.
June 25, 2020 - Clear, bright Medium amber in appearance.
Pronounced aroma. Nutty, dark dried fruits melded together. On the end slight salty tang like a fino. Have both oxidative & biological aged aromas.
Med dry, high alcohol, med-acid, Med+body. Medium aftertaste. Initially taste of fin0, but then develops into a more dark fruit and sugar of an olrosso.
April 22, 2018 - Less intensity than when I last had it in 2914.decent nutty sherry but no great complexity showing over the week it was open. Solid sherry.
November 28, 2015 - Looking back at my previous tasting note before I drank this wine today and I thought I might have been a bit OTT with notes and score but no, this is a stunning wine and amazing value at £9 form the Wine Society. Superb on its own or a great accompaniment to typical Spanish fayre. Delicious, complex, dry, long. If you don't like this, you don't like sherry.
May 2, 2015 - Tawny and amber tinges. Nutty and hint of brittle toffee. The palate is intense, savoury, hazelnut, saline, lots and lots of complexity, off dry finish which lingers for long time. This is serious wine for contemplation on its own or with ham, chorizo and cheese.
June 1, 2014 - A very good amontillado. Nutty nose with plenty of lift. Medium but with very good intensity. Fresh and clean, walnuts, long finish. Could pass for something older. Great value.
February 8, 2013 - Classic, and VGV
