November 23, 2013 - Folin Cellars with Henry’s Diner: Winemaker Dinner (Folin Cellars, Carlton Tasting Room): Well rounded fruit and earth notes, this inky near-black wine is just as excellent as the last time. Swaggers a complex and meandering finish. I wish I had bought more when it was still available.
Lovely special tasting treat at the end of a fantastic dinner-Thanks Rob!

November 19, 2012 - Shared with us by VinLancaster and Pete. Closed at first, but once opened for 30-45 minutes began to reveal itself as a huge, complex delicious wine. Violets, blue purple and red fruits, cocoa, dust, earth, goodness. Reminds me of what the varetial can do all by itself. Must have more wines from this producer and region. Thanks Kelly and Pete!

Big and seductive, dark, broody but dialed back with perfect balance and incredible depth. 91++

I can't add anything else to Chrisinsunnyside's excellent note, but this wine was drinking so well- it made me so proud to share with our Yakima friends. It really evolved over the last 3 years from excellent to the best Petite Sirah I've probably ever had. I wish I had thought to purchase a ton more 3 years ago!

January 1, 2012 - Very earthy, with deep, dark berry fruit. Nice spice underneath too. This drank as if it was on the downside of life. Very soft, lacking any serious structure. Considering how bold it was a couple years ago, I'm a bit disappointed. Glad we drank it when we did. If you have any, I'd recommend drinking now.

November 13, 2011 - Tried pre-bottling in the fall 2009, this wine has not only become brighter, but more balanced. I love the dark fruit, brick and leather notes with a great mouthfeel. N: Spice, meaty, blackberry, herbal notes. P: Black spice, tobacco, leather, earth's soil, mineral spice and intense soft finish but still tannic and a tad tight. 1/30/12: This wine was so dark, tight and closed off, I thought it was a toss. After 1-2 hours of aeration it completely changed. It was lovely, quiet silky, with masculine textural components and a lengthy finish. Leather, spice, dark earthy fruit dominated the palate.
