August 7, 2021 - From a mature, rocky hillside vineyard in Knights Valley. Med (+) ruby, with viscous dark legs. Unfined and unfiltered. Med (+) ripe black fruit, purple flowers and a fair amount of oak spice. Dry, but fruit-forward, with med to med (-) acidity and tannins. The alcohol is high (16.4%) but does not taste hot. Very rounded and smooth mouthfeel, with pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish. Unabashedly New World, this is not your typical Loire Valley Cabernet Franc. At its peak, or slightly past, not likely to improve with further aging.
June 30, 2017 - If anyone has a bottle, drink up! It's really showing well right now and gulpable! Super smooth, still bright fruit and just a lovely wine.
January 18, 2015 - Tasted at winery visit.
May 28, 2014 - delicious big wine
September 15, 2013 - The "After-A-Really-Bad-Wine-Tasting" Wine Tasting (Our place): Smooth tannins, spicy green nose with a light mineral on the finish. Enjoyable, but not overly notable... I didn't get as large a sense of sweet, lush fruit as several others did in this bottle.
November 26, 2012 - Very fruity and smooth. Hearty. went well with filet migon.
May 18, 2012 - Beautiful color. Underwhelming nose and start on palette but comes on nicely in the middle and finish with a dry intense oak profile. Definitely needs time to open up.
February 9, 2011 - Very nice aromatics comes from this wine. Dark cherry, plum, and oak flavors on the palate. Flirting with being too big.
$79.99 OH Retail.
January 30, 2011 - very fruity but very smooth, mouthfuls of flavor; nice with burgers and sipping afterward, a pleasant diversion from the normal (and nice) Delectus Cabs
May 1, 2010 - Smooth tannins, spicy green nose with a light mineral on the finish. My first 100% cab franc; perhaps I'll get more out of it on my second try. Enjoyable, but not notable...I just can't get a sense of the sweet fruit that others pick up below...
