February 25, 2019 - Decanted and drank over a 2-hr period, alongside spicy stir-fry. Wine held up against the peppery dinner. Color a deep Ruby, with only a tinge of straw around the edges. Nose of black licorice ropes (not anise). Soft tannins. Better than expected.
February 3, 2012 - Not really exciting, not what you would expect of an Amarone, but then again, the price was not what you would expect for an Amarone.
January 24, 2012 - Not actively bad. It doesn't have any of those "crappy wine" elements (vegetal/overoaked, etc), but it doesn't have too many good wine elements, either. Nose? Fine - Some earth, dark fruit. Palate - Same. Finish - decent (~10 sec). I don't know what it cost, but it was probably too much for what it is.
October 25, 2011 - Lacking the strength and complexity I expect from an Amarone, but not unpleasant.
September 8, 2011 - Good body, a little sweet, only a trace of tannins left, and some heat. Rich flavors of raisin and chocolate. That it fell apart the second day reinforces the signs that it won't benefit from further aging.
33% Corvina, 33% Rondinella, 34% Molinara
December 26, 2010 - corked
October 6, 2010 - Not bad for a cheap Amarone - good body, heavy, but not very complex. Still good QPR.
May 22, 2010 - Pizza Night with Walt (Chris and Brig's House): Not what I was expecting from an amarone, but that's ok. Was missing the serious sweet raisin/prun on the palate but did have the nose. Nice QPR and quaffer with pizza.
May 17, 2010 - Nice wine, really enjoyed this with pizza. Nose of raisins, a little cherry, and some toast. Medium bodied, nicely balanced for this price point, and a good finish. Will definitely be buying again.
April 18, 2010 - We drank this with friends after a dinner of rabbit risotto on 4/18/10. It had a bouquet of plum, prune, toast, burnt wood and alcohol aromas. The palate was over oaked and too hot with flavors that followed the nose.
