January 2, 2022 - Not as exceptional as I was hoping for, but still good. Lots of heat from the alcohol. Mellowed out a little by third day. Good wine, just a little disappointing this time around.

December 22, 2021 - 1 hour slow ox in glasses turn recorded in a 375 and enjoyed the next day. Plum, black fruit, with a bit of sugar dust. This was unusual yet enjoyable. Just don’t see this as getting better. Big.

November 28, 2021 - Stunning wine from QC. Dark notes of cocoa, leather, and cigar. Rich, fragrant, deep and velvety. Long finish. Very satisfying wine and the WOTN for Thanksgiving.

October 9, 2021 - From magnum. Perfect cork, light sediment. Room-filing aromas of dust, light toast, roses, meat, and extracted berries. Palate tastes restrained, with gobs of dark fruit just beneath the surface. Notes of cedar, graphite, more toast, licorice, and cassis move to the foreground and back, while gliding into a silky finish. Wonderful mix of complexity, flavor depth, and smoothness. This drank way better than a 750 I enjoyed only 6 months ago. Great right now, but I gotta think this has a decade left.

(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon) Dark red violet color; appealing, cassis, spice, ripe plum nose; tasty, cassis, oak spice palate with polished tannins; medium-plus finish 93+ points

(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) Dark and brooding on a nose that is quite closed up at present with blackberries and black cherry dominating initially followed by light floral aromas, earth, and kisses of chocolate. On the palate, boom! A compact ball of black fruit wound up incredibly tightly at present. Shows great intensity while still being deft on its feet. Big and bold but with tremendous layering and refinement. The finish lingers for as long as you want to keep counting. 15.2% alcohol.
