May 26, 2018 - This wine has finally entered it's prime drinking window. One hour decant. Casiss, pomegranate, cranberry and spice. Tannins are present but no longer overwhelming. Still a hint of alcohol on the finish. Enjoyed with pizza.

August 9, 2016 - Opened and let breath in bottle for 5 hours. This wine is extremely dark and smells of cardamom, clove, coffee, and dark fruits. On the palate, flavors of pomegranate, plum, cranberry and spice. Bold, but smooth tannins with a nice long finish. Ready to drink now, but should last another 3 to 5 years. Great with a sirloin steak!

April 20, 2016 - Decanted three hours. Impressions of restrained dark fruit with a mocha note, low acidity and fine tannins.

February 15, 2016 - Always a pleasure. Relatively big and round. Would like a touch more cab backbone, but don't think that's what's chappellet is going for in this wine....

November 23, 2014 - Wow. A great bottle of wine. Long finish. Deep fruit, but not overly dry. Second of two bottles I bought as an after thought while visiting the great team at Chappellet. Wish I had more!
