    NOSE: medium+ expressiveness; raisins; a bit high-toned; hints of mineral and flowers; alcohol is a little noticeable; simple.

    BODY: medium-light bodied; rustic garnet color of medium-deep depth; sediment present.

    TASTE: ripe fruit; aged --- leathery prune; reminds me of some aged Aussie GSM’s I’ve had; some black cherry, but the fruit seems to be falling out; a touch earthy; some tannins still present, but not overly tannic; 14.5% alc. pokes through; adequate acidity; on its downslope --- drink now.

    50, 5, 11, 14, 6 = 86

    September 27, 2011 - Fairly reserved nose. The dominant flavors are sweet oak and crushed rock, but there's a nice tart red cherry streak on the midpalate. Good for the price, but not all that good in the absolute.

    April 1, 2011 - Great balanced wine that really benefits from ample time to breathe. Our first couple of glasses after 2 hours of air-time didn't have nearly the draw that those after another hour. Oaky nose, ripe plum, and a slight tobacco finish. I'm intrigued what this one will be like in a couple of years. Definitely buy a couple of bottles to put away.

    March 16, 2011 - Still needed an hour of airing to get the full affect but this wine is an amazing QPR at under $10. It delivers musky swirling darkness that yields to riper fruit. A bit high in alcohol.

    March 9, 2011 - Lovely burgundy, medium body to the eye.
    Dark fruit (rasberry/cherry), maybe a touch of sweet tobacco and light anise to the nose.
    Dry full-bodied wine, smooth tannins, moving to dark cherry in the middle.
    Medium length.
    For 8.99 a lot of depth of flavor.
