March 5, 2024 - Dry tannic. Just delicious

December 22, 2023 - Light coloured, bright cherry fruits but packs one heck of dose of oak and a massive (monstrous) grip. Very correct stuff, just not soulful enough for me.

December 21, 2023 - Piedmont theme: My extra. Youthful with tutti-frutti notes on the nose, most guessed ‘16-18! On the modern spectrum, this was between the Gajas and the Sottimano/A. Conterno. Tight and tannic to begin with but relaxed with air. Slightly sweet but pure blackcurrant fruit. Had some mixed experiences ageing Clerico but this was enjoyable; most preferred this to the Sottimano.

Nice balance. Lots of plum and currant notes. Stiff tannins are present, this wine has another couple of decades worth of life ahead. Be in no rush to drink it.

    December 10, 2022 - 6 hour decant.
Stunning deep garnet color, blackberry/currant nose.
This one is really hitting its stride. The tannins are still massive, but they have softened and integrated into a greater whole. Layer after layer of luscious, juicy black fruit hits the sides of the tongue and back of the palate. The finish just goes on and on. If you’ve got some of these, I suggest you give one a try. I think they are ready, although there could be significantly more upside. It need a lot of air to show its best, but that said, it’s awesomely good right now. Pull a cork!
