June 18, 2013 - Always reliable and a great qpr. Juicy fruits, blueberries with nice acidity and minerality that gives it that extra dimension. Very nice.
June 8, 2013 - N: blueberry, cherry, tar, earth. P: dark and rustic, black and blue fruit, good Dolcetto but at ~$20 I think there are other reds I would prefer to drink most days.
April 3, 2013 - This is a fantastic QPR. Austere nose, but on the palate, this has refreshing mouth watering acidity, some blueberry notes, earthy minerality and medium tannins that suggest this can still go for a while. Paired with simple Gnocchi in tomato sauce and it was great but it does need the food. 88 pts just because of it is a bit short on fruityness. I knew Flavia would love it and she did.
January 5, 2013 - Wine legend Luciano Sandrone's "little sweet one" didn't see any oak, and simply gushes with vitality and concentration. Dark ruby and medium weight, the '08 Dolcetto d'Alba is a nosegay of blackberries, mint and violets. Tart, juicy berry and plum flavors, bright acidity, and round tannins lead to a clean, focused finish. Better with food.
