January 2, 2024 - I don’t have much practical experience with aged wine and especially aged Bordeaux. This, however, is a very exciting bottle for my father and I, as he is generally a fan of projects on which Michelle Rolland has worked. This is his “home” wine from the peak of his career and wine internationalisation.
However, by now, the wine is firmly in the tertiary aromas: forrest floor, moss and mushrooms lead the way. The nose is pronounced, though. There is old oak and leather, tobacco. Dried meat and a little bit of soy sauce. Unfortunately, old people’s apartments. As for the fruit I get very dark and concentrated blackberry, blackcurrant. With time, everything kind of turned into balsamic vinegar.
On the palate, it’s getting weak but the acidity is still there. The body is thinning and is now medium at most. Tannins are medium-. It tastes like a mouthful of dry earth and moss, a little bit of fresh mushroom.
The finish is decently long with the aftertaste of dried beef and dried plums.
Frankly, I enjoy the complexity of the distinct aromas on the nose much more than what’s left the palate. This is a super interesting experience, though.

September 24, 2016 - Fully mature, with a smoky, thyme, black cherry, plum, mocha and floral nose, the wine is round, fleshy, soft and ready for easy going, prime time drinking. This well-priced charmer is ready for drinking. Pop, pour and enjoy.

November 2, 2015 - This bottle represents why Bordeaux is my favorite region. $20 and simply great. When you open this and take a sip it whispers (very clearly) Bordeaux. Over time, this becomes more apparent. Great balance, typical Bordeaux palate (to the extent one can generalize). I have another, and I will be drinking it in short order. No need to panic, but no need to wait.
