August 5, 2020 - Dinner at Blue Bottle with Bill and Ash, brought this one along with a noce lineup - 2018 William Cole Chard, 2016 Domaine Divio MV Auction Pinot. Last wine of the evening. Cork broke/crumbled when opened at home, double decanted and rebottled, open 2 hours prior to drinking..

Consistent with notes from 2017:"Medium ruby/purple color, no separation. Less dark than lass time (from memory). Nose of dark fruits, earth and cedar. Palate was showing dark fruits, cherry, blackberry, cassis, pencil/graphite, and mocha/chocolate (mid palate). Tannins are fined and sweet at this point, making for a smooth texture..."

The profile is similar, still a big and expressive wine. It is aging nicely and should have another 10+ years in it based on this bottle. Great stuff

July 25, 2020 - Decanted 30 minutes but best after two hours (rough edges before that). Bold flavors of leather, licorice, molasses, and dried berries with very firm tannins and generous aged acid. Great showing for one of the best vintages of this old-school wine and many years to go.

July 18, 2020 - Stunning right now. Definitely had a number of more years but it is really drinking perfectly right now.

June 22, 2020 - Excellent. Deep, rich with classic Cab structure. A great deal of fruit remains and could still improve. Very smooth.
