June 12, 2011 - In many ways, this is a step up. A single vineyard selection, from a well respected winery. The very first indication (after the price) of an increase in quality, is the French oak on the nose. Malbec can handle it, and we don't always get it on the lower priced wines. This wine is staining the glass purple. The fruit is quite focused dark blueberry and dark cherry. The acid is not going to overpower you. This is a smooth drinking wine. Some non fruit flavors like tar and leather on the finish. It is very nice to experience the fact that a few extra dollars in price equates to a higher standard.

January 15, 2011 - My wife and I really enjoyed these bottles. A big wine, vanilla overtones right out of the gate, it was really easy to drink this down. Really well balanced, delicious, great for the price.

September 30, 2010 - This is a single vineyard planted in 70 and 71 close to the Andes. The idea is the age and heigth gives you more red raspberries. The man himself is Italian who moved to Argentina to 68. Until recently all of this fruit went to Catena, and then Vine Connections convienced him to make the wine himself.

This is a flood irrigation system for the vines. He is "close" to organic, which means he isn't. But its maybe coming?

Does have more aromatic expression towards evergreen notes than the "basic" La Posta. The palate is more voluptious with the tannins also being a little less rustic than the basic La Posta. Works at $16.
