December 2, 2023 - A bday dinner (Orrery, London): This is now fullly ready . We decanted for a good hour and was needed and very happy to have picked it for this event. Well evolved , full on earthy, soft leather and still very much healthy fruit. The palate is well evolved, the tannin all silky and felt so ready now. For sure it has more life ahead but drinks so nice now just push this through!

March 3, 2023 - Joel's Tuscan Lunch (The wilds of Kent): Tried alongside its stable mate of Sammarco (the 1999) and this edged it today.
Takes you on a journey of dark blue plum, chocolate, graphite. All held nicely in balance with good acidity and structure. Evolving in harmony with time in hand.
Only downside in the company would be the lack of Tuscan typicity but a great wine!

March 3, 2023 - Tuscan Lunch chez Joel (Kent countryside, UK): Cooked black fruit and oak on the nose which carried over on to the midpalate where there were soupy tannins, stewed fruit, and in search of an oasis of freshness. Perhaps it was not my style or my ability to read the wine was hindered by nearly a dozen preceding bottles!

March 3, 2023 - Joel's Tuscan Lunch (A farmhouse in leafy Kent): Mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Petit Verdot. So good! Plush and sexy, and intensely dark, like 70% chocolate seasoned with violets. Gorgeous, refreshing, graphitey finish. Hmm, maybe these Super Tuscans can be pretty good...
