May 19, 2013 - A rich and young color. Very little aging observed on the rim. Floral, red fruit and spicy notes on the nose. Rich red fruit, cherry, strawberry and wet leather. A tart and softly sweet on the palet. Nice and broad tannins. Lacking in layering and a soft but indistinct finish.

January 13, 2013 - Thought it might be past its prime, but it was really good. Fruity, a little jammy. Some dark berries and a hint of spice. Wish we had picked up more than one bottle. :-/

January 16, 2011 - Even though Sangiovese is so strongly associated with Italian wines, I usually find myself underwhelmed with many of them and generally like ones from California better (a strong generalization, I know) This one from Rusack really brings out all the good stuff: dark berries and plum with medium tannins with a hint of italian seasoning savoriness that would go great with a tomato based pasta dish. I'm thinking lasagna...
