July 8, 2021 - Rich, flavorful, multi layered wine with great structure and acidity. My last bottle.

January 18, 2021 - Far improved from the bottle I had a few years ago. Drinking really well right now, nice complexity.

December 30, 2020 - In a perfect spot right now for my tastes which tend to appreciate bottles on the older side of the experts' drinking window. Completely resolved but still with life. Great depth on the mid-palate, and a morphing, non-linear, alluring finish that hints of resin. Trying to keep the score objective - I like it better than "92" would suggest.

December 4, 2020 - Somewhat improved from nine years ago, but generally disappointing, given both the vintage and producer. Medium, slightly dull ruby color, medium plus bodied, medium alcohol. Mature, dry red wine. More aromatic than I remember from 2011, with red florals, dried earth, dried cherry, spicy raspberry, pipe tobacco, dried cocoa, and old leather. Similar, with dry flavors on the palate; lacks flavor intensity. Tannins, acidity and fruit are in harmony. Medium finish. Enjoyed with Italian sausage and pasta in white wine sauce; food was helpful. Drink now, unlikely to improve with further cellaring. Drink through 2022+.

November 24, 2020 - I expected more from this wine--in terms of complexity and layered flavors--but this bottle was pretty much one note sangiovese. Bright cherry, some mild mineral notes, bright acidity. Not tannin to speak of but I wouldn't have expected tannin at 16 years of age. Certainly drinkable but not memorable.
