May 19, 2016 - Still has quite the fruity punch, mixed with some earthy and herbal tones. Fully integrated and balanced tannins.
February 15, 2016 - Everything I previously wrote, except for the one dimensional bit. This is fantastic now! Amazing how much big fruit is still left after 10 years. everything has come together now to give a beautifully balanced, multi dimensional wine. Simply amazing. And when you consider it was only about $13 a bottle, it should probably get another five stars.
January 9, 2015 - Lots of plum notes a and a bit of chalk, perhaps tobacco.
March 1, 2014 - Smoother, much less jammy than years ago. Alcohol burn was not there but was opened for a couple hours...
November 12, 2012 - Glad I popped my last one. Oak dominated on day one, raisin day two.
August 10, 2012 - The last bottle is every bit as good as the first. Wish I had more. The flavor notes I mentioned previously (currants and green pepper on the nose, cola on the palate) are still there, and so is some lovely fruit.
August 8, 2012 - Dark and smokey. Alcohol that used to pervade this wine has burned off, revealing a pleasantly rare cool fruit profile that's missing from value wines today. Really nice, glad I had one left. Serve cool.
April 23, 2012 - nice value CV blend that continues to soften, gain a little depth with age. the heat is still there, but blew off pretty quickly. Better on day 2 bodes well, very enjoyable. Nice syrah nose, but a touch oaky for my taste.
March 12, 2012 - Fun and tasty, if a little hotter than I remember. Fun, fruity, and a step above the Supermarket wines. Must let it open up for 30-60 minutes to let the alcohol blow off and the fruit come out.
Drink up.
February 18, 2012 - It has a welcoming, very inviting fruit nose. Rich aroma of plum, purple, black and red fruits. Dry on the palate. Very noticeable Syrah. Nicely layered. Good structure and lovely peppery fruit.
