October 9, 2013 - Quite an odd wine. My wife loved it... 92 points in her book... and I thought it was flawed.
Purple artificial cork. Moderate red color with some bricking, but quite a youthful look for a wine this old. Aromas of blueberries and raspberries, but teetering towards port aromas.
    Very one-dimensional finish, porty.

July 31, 2012 - Very juicy black fruit. A touch grapey even. Has some floral notes as well. Has enough of a backbone of tannins and acidity to hold up the fruit. Has enough left to suggest it has some years ahead of it.

January 23, 2009 - First impression was a very reticent nose. Dusty tannins covered the fruit. Decanted and waited an hour. The merlot is there but faded with tannins that did not seem integrated.

February 16, 2006 - Rich and thick, a wonderful mouth feel. Loads of dark fruit. One of the best merlots I have ever had.

March 18, 2005 - My 1st B & H. Incredible nose of chocolate and ripe berries with a hint of spice. A definate WOW nose. Very deep, rich purple in color. Upon tasting all the flavors on the nose were there and did not disappoint. A very lush wine, almost thick, with a finish that did not stop. 94pts.

April 2, 2002 - ($42) Initially closed. Decanted for about an hour. My opinion of it improved dramatically with time. Blueberry fruit with a lush, low-acid, chocolate milk texture. Yum. Impressive for Mendocino fruit. Doesn't show a lot of oak or anything, despite the texture it conveys.
