  May 10, 2022 - Soft and sensuous with a velvet-texture overlying firm tannins which were present throughout. The quality of fruit was slightly marred by a Bretty note of furred game and talc, but it did develop well on the mid-palate through to a splendid finish which had a hint of chocolate powder.   Just as the 2002, very dark cherry core. Eggplant, floral and cold tobacco, slightly jammy fruits in the background.
  Med to full body, rather low acidity, some oak on the palate with again those tobacco, inky notes, blackberry.
  A little modern.

  September 21, 2009 - Loire Valley Wine Commission (The W Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: beautiful and pretty tones of herbs, dark red cherries, dill, dark florals and root vegetables. Great depth with a real pretty side to it
  
  taste: very tannic with a robust medium/full feel and tones of currants, dark florals, herbs, dark red cherries and dill tones. Good depth, but the tannins are almost overpowering right now
  
  overall: This is in need of time, but this could turn into a real beauty. Well balanced with good aromatics already, the tannins just need to pull back a bit before the wine fully shows itself off
