January 18, 2020 - a fine example of a perfectly aged BDM.. all that ripe fruit has now meshed with the backbone into a balanced beauty

January 13, 2019 - Cherries sweet, and chocolate on the nose, ruby colour, cherries chocolate and some leather in the mouth, just right acidity but tannins though soft still a bit high, no t much length but a decent bottle and not high in alcohol which makes a pleasant change.

    February 12, 2016 - Last drink with M at 1855.
Pop and poured. Drank over 2 hours.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby-garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of dusty earth, sweet dark red cherries, chocolate, new leather, iron minerality, and slight barnyard and cheese. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), gum-drying intgrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet dark red cherries, blueberries, chocolate, leather, earth. Long finish.
Very good quality. Complex and lots of ripe stuff here. Big structure. Not the elegant feminine type of Brunello. In drinking window already. Will still develop more tertiary notes over the next 4-5 years.
Maceration on skins for 30 days. Matured in mix of Slavonian oak casks and French oak barrels.

February 13, 2015 - Needs at least an hour o more to breathe. Then heaven. Soft supple fruit. Still tannic so can last for years.
