November 12, 2021 - Smooth, full bodied with dark garnet colouring and dark fruit. Nose was dark fruit but not especially expressive. Enjoyable without being remarkable

December 21, 2020 - Cellared since purchase, perfect cork, fill. Nose of red fruits, especially raspberry, and licorice, furfural and lavender. Medium bodied with a silky finish. Drinking well now and will continue doing so for 5-10 years. Very good but not great-great.

August 13, 2018 - This was a total surprise. I have never liked wines from this Domaine as I have found them overblown crap. This bottle, however, is exceptional. I don’t know if it is the vintage or a change in philosophy or both. Deep garnet color is followed by a nose of herbs, earth and red / blue fruits. There is a smoothness and ripe aspect that points to modern but in the most retrained way. A touch of purple plum. If it’s going to be in this style, I want it just like this. Super. (94)

January 8, 2018 - Mostly cherry fruit, a bit monolithic, a hint of garrigue, cinnamon/due to high alcohol, mineral and noticeable heat. Good concentration, fully integrated, good mineral and a medium finish with noticeable alcohol at the end. YMMV based on alcohol tolerance.

December 16, 2017 - Full body strong spicy nose (pepper) we also get some liquorish on the nose - medium+ tannis and acidity but especially the tannins are quite well integrated. The palette gives you get a lot of dark fruit - cherries, black currant - lots of spices pepper especially - a well balanced wine that gives you what you can expect from a good Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The aftertaste is quite weak and that is why we are ending on 91 and not 92.
