May 3, 2020 - This was spectacular, especially given its age. Pepper and fruit were immediately apparent when the bottle was opened, it was more like a three year old wine than a twelve year old wine. Consumed over two nights, the first night was superior. Dark fruit, pepper, perfect tannins, beautiful mouthfeel. This was a delicious, balanced wine that had no hint of the 15.1% -OH content. I suggest you drink up!

September 16, 2017 - Deep dark red/purple with red and black fruit on palate, with some underlying earth. Smooth and medium long finish.

Important for me to catch Mike's Zins at just the right time - too soon they're somewhat overly brash, a bit extracted and unknit, without the detail they gain at the end of their drinking window. Yet, they can quickly roll down the other side and lack vibrancy, as this bottle did.
