July 18, 2017 - PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark purple color. Lots of sediment. Plum, blackberry, red currant on the nose. Thinning out at this point. A little smoke. Light tannins. Red fruit. Still enjoyable but starting to fade. 89 pts. Aloha!

May 27, 2014 - On PnP it's nicely tannic, a bit astringent, nicely juicy with a good bit of smoke and fat. Nice fun Ty wine, as expected! Also tons of acid - he went to a nice level for this one.

The fruit kept coming out more and more. This is a nice wine, and I'd have been happy to have more of it. Too bad Ty keeps increasing his prices. < $20 is certainly where this wine belongs. Tasty but not terribly distinctive or complex.

February 23, 2012 - A deep purple syrah based blend, nose is of ripe black fruits, think blackberries with a bit of plum. Palate is slightly tart continuing with blackberries, it is full bodied and finishes nicely with an acidic bite at the end. Recommended at under $20

August 8, 2011 - PnP through Nuance Wine Finer. Dark purple color. Blackberries, a bit of wood and some spice. Blackberries, with moderate tannins. A little spice and wood, but not overwhelming. A little silk on the palate too. Little tartness sticks out on the finish; otherwise fairly balanced. Enjoyable bottle of wine. 89pts. Aloha!

May 7, 2011 - Enjoyable once again as this is not a wine to go for all the awards, but it is a great wine to pair with food as it is soft and nuanced enough to compliment many dishes.

April 8, 2011 - Upon opening, a very nice nose of dark berries.
Differing from my first bottle, this did not have the overwhelming alcohol on the nose or on the first few sips. Unfortunately, it was the total opposite. Very muted, closed flavors on the palete with very few redeeming qualities.
After letting it sit for 45 mins. to an hour, it did upon up somewhat, but not to the degree I experienced with Ty's 2005 Field Blend Red. It could be an off bottle, but there was no funk or anything unsavory about this bottle, it was just very muted.
My hopes are that this is going through an evolution of sorts, that will work itself out in a few months. I will taste again in 6 months to see if that is the case.
